Perfume has the capacity to evoke deep, poignant senses of appetite, love, lust or fear. It is a clean-paved gateway to our memory, whether it was camping as a child, the laundry of an old lover, or your neighbor’s affinity for kala namak.
Stimulate your senses with our latest scent sensation, A Perfume Organic. Created by Amanda Walker, A Perfume Organic is produced organically with pure ingredients (alarmingly rare in the perfume world), which encourage the body to breath it in. “Synthetic scents stop the nose from smelling,” explained Walker. “Natural scents are taken in like inhaling eucalyptus in a sauna.”
While working for billion-dollar perfume powerhouses, Walker was inspired to launch her own mission-based collection (part of the proceeds contribute to PETA). Suffering from allergies, she sought to create an innovative line using whole, quality materials that would not harm the body. “Pure doesn’t always mean healthy and organic,” Walker said.
In February of 2010, she launched with Green, a juicy, herbal rose potion, and an homage to the New York state flower.
Poured in small batches in New York, to support local economy, A Perfume Organic invests in the complexity of every note and chord.
Today, Walker is experimenting with scents here at home. She can currently be found in Utah, harvesting pine cones and distilling sage brush. “There is so little focus on the micro-climates and raw materials right here,” she said. While, the perfume industry is powered from the fields of France or intricate corners of India, Walker is inspired to utilize America’s own fragrant agriculture.
We welcome you to experience A Perfume Organic at ABC or explore the collection on-line here.
