This past Wednesday, February 15th, right after the most loved-filled day of the year — Valentine’s Day — Deepak Chopra sat down to fittingly talk about finding strength in love during times of uncertainty. His special guests for the evening were Arianna Huffington and her sister, Agapi Stassinopoulos, whose new book “Unbinding the Heart: A dose of Greek Wisdom, Generosity, and Unconditional Love” is just about to hit book stands.
Much of the conversation centered around Arianna’s and Agapi’s mother, Elli, who Deepak also had a close relationship with. Elli was not only a huge support system for both of her daughters and their different passions in life (she encouraged Arianna to pursue a career in journalism and Agapi a career in theater), but also for Deepak as well. All three spoke of their love for Elli and her vibrant, loving spirit, as well as the inspiration she gave to each of them throughout her life.
Deepak spoke to the women about their separate career paths in life, focusing on their triumphs, struggles and epiphanies they had along the way. Agapi discussed the lessons she learned throughout her acting and writing careers, including how she discovered how to cast away both the judgement placed on her from others and herself, as well as the conditions she put on herself and ultimately, how she found her true voice and discovered a path that was uniquely her own.
