Get the Summer Glow: A Visit from RMS Beauty

Typically busy with the faces of Gisele and Miranda Kerr and gracing the pages of Vogue and Allure - celebrity make-up artist, Rose-Marie Swift of RMS Beauty, stopped in for a special event with ABC.

In-store in our apothecary department giving makeovers, consultations and beauty tips, Rose-Marie was as down to Earth as her line. Having been in the beauty biz for decades, she sought out a line that she could feel confident about, in its wholesomeness, when applying on her clients and on her own skin. In 2008, when she came back empty-handed, she launched RMS. Different from other cosmetics in that this line is not only created with certified, organic ingredients in their raw, living state, RMS also contains vitamins and enzymes that nuture one’s skin.

Rose-Marie offered us some of her tips to get the summer glow.

1. Be gentle. Rose-Marie has never used soap on her face – fact. Aside from the aesthetic unpleasantness of soaps, it leaves skin dry, flat, and stripped of its natural oils. Rather, she uses virgin coconut oil. Still alive with enzymes and anti-oxidants, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial, coconut oil removes make-up, cleanses the skin, and is naturally anti-aging.

2. Simplify. Rose-Marie says unmake-up; that is, less is more. Take it easy. Apply sparingly. Let the skin breathe a little and let natural beauty show through.

3. Nourish from within. Everything we put on our skin goes into our bodies and conversely, the nutrients we feed our bodies will radiate out. Rose-Marie recommends wheatgrass for its purifying properties and she personally takes organic, ground flax seeds and a fish oil everyday to obtain the essential fatty acids which are great for the skin.
